Welcome to Lifescope — a mobile-first neighbourhood discovery app that answers one question: "Where in Houston should I live?" The App is developed and operated by Lifescope Technologies Private Limited, a company incorporated in India (CIN: U62091MH2026PTC467242), with its registered office at 504, B-Wing, Guru Himmat Building, Dr. Mascarenhas Road, Mazgaon, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India – 400010.
These Terms govern your use of the App. Read them carefully. By creating an account, tapping "I Agree," or continuing to use the App, you are entering a binding legal agreement with us.
1. Who Can Use This App
a) Age
- You must be at least 18 years old. If we discover you are under 18, your account will be terminated immediately and all your data deleted.
b) Account
- You may take the quiz as a guest. Saving results and managing a subscription require a registered account.
- You must provide accurate information. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
- Notify us immediately at support@lifescope.biz if your account is compromised.
c) One Account Only
- One account per person. Creating additional accounts to exploit free trials or bypass paid limits is a material breach of these Terms and will result in permanent bans — no refund.
d) Sanctions and Export Controls
- By using the App, you confirm you are not: (a) located in or a national of a country subject to U.S. government embargoes; or (b) on any U.S. restricted-party list such as the OFAC Specially Designated Nationals list. If either applies, you are not permitted to use the App.
2. What the App Does
a) 60-Second Lifestyle Quiz
- Covers budget, visual preferences, lifestyle balance, work location, deal-breakers (pets, kids, health flags), and your moving timeline.
- Free users: unlimited retakes; only your #1 match is fully visible. Matches #2–#5 are blurred.
- Premium users: full top-5 results with detailed score breakdowns.
b) Neighbourhood Matching
- A rules-based algorithm scores up to 20 Houston neighbourhoods across economic fit, practical fit, lifestyle, safety, social fit, and environment. Scores run 0–100.
- Free: 1 full match + 3 blurred peek previews. Premium: top 5 with full breakdowns.
c) Neighbourhood Detail Pages
- Each page shows a photo gallery, compatibility scores, lifestyle metrics, true cost calculator, live events, an interactive map, ambassador insights, and success stories.
- Free users: full detail for their 1 top match only.
d) 30-Day Living Simulations
- A 7-episode series per neighbourhood simulating daily life — commutes, errands, social life, safety, weather, and hidden costs.
- Delivered as daily push notifications (opt-in) with photo-based Day Cards and personalised insights.
- Free: Episode 1 of your top match only. Premium: all 7 episodes across all 20 neighbourhoods (140 episodes total).
- Simulation content is based on public data and user-contributed content. All cost figures are estimates only — not financial advice.
e) Live Events
- Event feeds via Serp API, showing what's happening within 1.5 miles of each neighbourhood.
- Free: limited events per neighbourhood. Premium/Family: unlimited, with filters.
f) Interactive Map
- Full-screen Google Maps view with colour-coded neighbourhood polygons and your pinned work/school locations.
- Premium: commute isochrone rings (15/30/45-min zones) and points-of-interest layers.
g) Comparison Tool
- Side-by-side analysis of up to 3 neighbourhoods across scores, price, commute, amenities, events, and success stories.
- Free: overall score and price only. Premium/Family: all columns plus a Decision Assistant.
h) Property Links (Zillow)
- Each neighbourhood page has a "View Properties" button linking to pre-filtered Zillow search results via affiliate links.
- We are not a real estate agent, broker, or listing platform. We have no responsibility for the accuracy or availability of any property listing on Zillow or any other third-party site.
- Affiliate clicks are tracked anonymously for revenue attribution — no personal data is passed to Zillow.
i) Ambassador Programme
- Verified Houston residents share neighbourhood insights and are available for scheduled chats.
- Ambassador content is personal opinion — not an official endorsement by Lifescope.
j) Couples / Roommate Mode
- Each partner completes their own quiz; we merge results into a joint view showing overlap, conflicts, and a compromise list.
- Requires an active Premium or Family subscription.
k) Move Guarantee
- If you're unhappy with your top-matched neighbourhood within 3 months of moving in, we will re-run a free personalised re-match — once per user per year.
- To activate: submit an in-app NPS score below 5 and complete our post-move survey.
- This Guarantee is a service commitment only. It does not create any financial obligation, refund entitlement, or liability for relocation costs on our part.
3. Rules of Use
a) Permitted
- Personal, non-commercial use only. You may not use the App for real estate solicitation, lead generation, or any commercial activity without our prior written consent.
b) Prohibited — strictly
- Create multiple accounts to abuse free trials or bypass gating.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or data-mine the App or its algorithms.
- Submit false or fabricated content as an ambassador or in any user submission.
- Harass, spam, or harm other users or ambassadors.
- Use technical means to bypass paywalls or access gated features.
- Violate any applicable federal, state, or local law.
- Take any action that could damage, impair, or overload our systems.
Violations: immediate account termination without refund. Serious violations may result in legal action.
c) App Updates
- We may update, modify, add, or remove features at any time without prior notice — including simulation content, algorithm weights, and third-party integrations.
- The App requires iOS 14+ or Android 10+. We are not responsible for issues caused by outdated operating systems or unsupported devices.
- Changes that materially affect a paid feature will be communicated via email or in-app notification.
d) Content Moderation
- We may remove, edit, or hide any user-submitted content — including ambassador posts, photos, success stories, and forum contributions — at any time, without notice and without liability.
- Removed content cannot be restored. We do not back up user-generated content.
- Ambassadors consent to a residency verification review. We may revoke ambassador status if documentation is fraudulent or outdated.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
a) Tiers
- Three tiers: Free, Premium ($19.99/month or $199/year), and Family ($29.99/month or $299/year). Full feature breakdown is in the Subscription Table at the end of this document.
b) Payments
- Processed through Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Stripe (direct).
- By subscribing, you authorise us to bill your payment method on a recurring basis.
- We do not store your credit or debit card numbers. All payment data is handled by Stripe, Apple, or Google.
c) Free Trial
- New users may receive a 7-day free Premium trial. It auto-converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- One trial per person. We track trials by email address and device ID. Creating a new account to get a second trial violates these Terms.
d) Auto-Renewal
- Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period. You will be charged 24 hours before the renewal date. To stop auto-renewal, cancel at least 24 hours before through your app store account or via Settings > Account > Manage Subscription.
e) Refunds
- App Store: Apple and Google govern their own refund windows (typically 24–48 hours).
- Direct (Stripe): no refunds except for confirmed duplicate charges or proven technical failure on our end.
- Cancellation: you keep access until the end of the paid period. No refund for unused time.
- Ambassador rewards: non-refundable and non-transferable.
f) Price Changes
- We will give 30 days' notice before changing prices — by email and in-app banner. For existing subscribers, new prices take effect at the next renewal after the notice period. Continuing to use the App after the notice period means you accept the new price.
g) Cancellation Effects
- Cancel: access continues to end of paid period, then reverts to Free tier.
- Downgrade: takes effect at the next billing cycle; no partial refund for the current period.
- Saved simulations, comparison history, and ambassador chat access may become unavailable after reversion to Free.
h) Payment Failure
- If payment fails, Stripe retries up to 3 times over 7 days. You retain access during this grace period. If unresolved after 7 days, your account reverts to Free tier. Update your payment method via Settings > Account > Manage Subscription to restore access — no reconnection fee.
5. Intellectual Property
a) Ours
- Everything in the App — source code, algorithms, simulation templates, designs, graphics, data compilations, and written content — is owned by or licensed to Lifescope Technologies Private Limited, protected under U.S. copyright, trademark, and applicable international IP laws.
- "Lifescope" and the Lifescope logo are our trademarks. No use without written consent.
b) Your Licence
- We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for personal purposes only. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sublicense, or reverse-engineer any part of the App.
c) Your Content
- By submitting content — ambassador insights, photos, videos, forum posts, quiz responses made public, or success stories — you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, reproduce, modify, display, and distribute that content within the App and in our marketing. You confirm you own it and it does not infringe anyone's rights.
- We may moderate, edit, or remove any user content without notice.
d) Ambassador Content
- Ambassadors keep ownership of original photos and text but grant the licence above.
- Residency documents (utility bills, leases, IDs) must be submitted with sensitive identifiers — account numbers, full ID numbers — redacted. We store the redacted copy for verification and delete it within 12 months.
- Rewards (gift cards, referral credits) are issued for your time and effort — not in exchange for IP rights.
6. Disclaimers
a) Informational Tool Only
- Every neighbourhood score, simulation insight, cost estimate, and compatibility percentage is an estimate based on publicly available data. None of it is financial advice, real estate advice, or legal advice.
- Lifescope is not a licensed real estate agent, broker, or financial adviser. All relocation, purchase, or rental decisions are entirely your own.
b) No Warranties
- The App is provided AS IS and AS AVAILABLE. We make no warranties — express or implied — about accuracy, reliability, fitness for purpose, or uninterrupted service.
- We do not guarantee that: (i) the App is error-free; (ii) neighbourhood data is current; (iii) algorithm results predict your personal satisfaction; or (iv) Zillow, Serp API, or Google Maps will always be available.
c) Third-Party Sites
- Links to Zillow or other platforms are for convenience only. We are not responsible for their content, accuracy, security, or practices. Any transaction on a third-party site is solely between you and that party.
d) Limitation of Liability
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lifescope Technologies Private Limited and its directors, officers, and employees are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages — including losses arising from relocation decisions, third-party data errors, or security incidents outside our control.
- Our total liability to you for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. For free-tier users, our liability is capped at $5.00 USD.
e) Indemnification
- You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lifescope Technologies Private Limited and its affiliates from any claims, damages, costs, and legal fees arising from: (i) your violation of these Terms; (ii) your misuse of the App; (iii) content you submit; or (iv) any third-party claim caused by your actions through the App.
7. Termination
a) You
- Delete your account anytime via Settings > Account > Delete Account or by emailing support@lifescope.biz. Deletion takes effect at the end of the current billing period — no partial refund.
b) Us
- We may suspend or terminate your account without prior notice for: violation of these Terms; suspected fraud or multi-account abuse; non-payment or chargebacks; false information; harmful behaviour; or a legal requirement.
c) After Termination
- Premium access is revoked immediately. Account data is deleted within 90 days unless retention is required by law (e.g., financial records required for 7 years under applicable regulations). Unclaimed ambassador rewards are forfeited.
8. Dispute Resolution
a) Try Us First
- Before filing any claim, email support@lifescope.biz with the subject "Dispute." We will try to resolve it within 30 days.
b) Binding Arbitration
- If informal resolution fails, all disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. Proceedings will be conducted in Harris County, Texas — or by videoconference if both parties agree.
- You waive your right to a jury trial and your right to bring or participate in any class action, collective action, or representative proceeding. Every dispute must be resolved individually.
- Exceptions to arbitration: small claims court actions; emergency injunctive relief; intellectual property disputes.
c) Governing Law
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The U.S. Federal Arbitration Act governs arbitration provisions.
d) Severability of Arbitration Clause
- If the class action waiver is found unenforceable for a specific claim, that claim shall proceed in a court of competent jurisdiction in Harris County, Texas. All other claims remain subject to arbitration.
9. General
- Changes: We will give 30 days' notice of material changes to these Terms via email and in-app banner. Continued use after the notice period is acceptance. To reject: stop using the App and delete your account.
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Subscription Table are the complete agreement between you and us regarding the App.
- Severability: If any provision is unenforceable, it is modified to the minimum extent needed to make it enforceable — or severed if modification is impossible. Everything else stays in effect.
- No Waiver: Our failure to enforce a right at any time does not waive that right.
- Assignment: You may not transfer your account or rights. We may assign ours to an affiliate or acquirer without notice.
- Force Majeure: We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control — including natural disasters, pandemics, cyber-attacks, government actions, internet outages, or failures of third-party APIs such as Zillow, Serp API, or Google Maps. If a force majeure event disrupts a paid feature for more than 14 consecutive days, email support@lifescope.biz to discuss account credit options.
- Language: English controls. No translation creates additional obligations.
